The Student Research Forum (SRF) is a celebration of student research in all OHSU schools and disciplines. This year’s forum will host Dr. Joseph Difranza as the keynote speaker, student research oral presentations, and a large cross-disciplinary poster reception. The event will also be a teaching and outreach opportunity, as high school students and undergraduates from across the Portland area will be attending. All research presentations and the keynote address will take place in the OHSU Old Library, and a closing awards gala will be held for all participants and their mentors on the evening of May 15th in the Vey Conference Center, on the the south end of the 11th floor in Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, near Veteran’s Hospital Road.
We invite students from SON, SOD, SOM, College of Pharmacy, and OGI to present research from any research field from engineering or policy design to genetics or symptom management! The oral presentations themes have yet to be decided, but they will encompass a range of research priorities at OHSU. There will also be one all-inclusive poster reception the evening of May 14th. The goal of these sessions is to bring together OHSU students with diverse expertise to present and discuss recent discoveries, studies, tools, and medical advances on their topics of interest.
Each oral presentation session, in categories yet to be finalized, has space for only 5 presenters, but the poster session will be unlimited. All sessions will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Please reserve your place by submitting an abstract of your work in progress. Abstracts can be submitted from March 18th up until the close of registration, April 22nd, and once submitted may be edited until April 30th.
The Student Research has grown immensely in the last few years, and we hope it will continue to do so with the financial and moral support of numerous OHSU students, faculty, staff, research institutes, clinical and academic departments, and local businesses and industry. We are deeply grateful for all who support the forum with your time, resources, and enthusiasm! If you would like to, it is not too late to get involved. Please contact us for more information!
We hope to see many OHSU staff, faculty, students, and administration at the 26th Annual OHSU Student Research Forum. Please take a moment to register for the forum, and join us May 14-15th.
See you there!
